In a couple of Oracle Architecture podcasts the term "hairball" architecture is used and think that image sums it up well. We've all seen the "hairball" data goes with such an architecture too. <br /><br />John Zachmann has even made the point that his framework is deliberately IT centric because at the time only IT people knew what he was talking about. <br /><br />This is starting to change, I see more and more talk from business about MDM and EA now. Don't see much real work yet but at least business people are starting to complain that EA is too IT centric.
